Copperband Butterfly (Chelmon rostratus)

With striking copper stripes, a false eyespot, and an elegant nose, the Copperband Butterfly (Chelmon rostratus) is an attractive and unique choice for the experienced saltwater hobbyist with an established tank. In the Indo-Pacific, they tend to be solitary or in proven pairs. These delicate fish are not considered reef-safe, as they are active foragers often on the hunt for creatures such as feather dusters and coco worms. However, the Copperband Butterfly is also known to eat pesty aiptasia!
